British bitters grew out of English pale ales as a draught product in the 1800’s

Traditionally they are very fresh and under no pressure being dispensed with hand pumps

Very popular after World War II, declining in the 1970s

APPEARANCE

Pale amber to medium copper colour, good clarity and low carbonation

AROMA

Moderate malt aroma, a bready biscuit toasted malt complexity,  mild fruitiness from the yeast and a granadilla floral fruity character from the dry hoping.

FLAVOUR

Moderate to high bitterness too balance the sweetness. You can taste the bready toasted malt character as well as the fruity esters produced during fermentation.

MOUTH FEEL

Medium body and low carbonation.

Pale malt + carra amber, crystal malt, carra red and black malt. With an English ale yeast left to do Gods work
